With $60M in new funding, 1NCE is building the future of IoT from the inside out - Refresh Miami (2025)

For a company built on the idea of making connectivity invisible, 1NCE has been anything but quiet lately.

Fresh off raising $60 million in new funding, the Miami- and Germany-based IoT company is gearing up for a major leap forward. The funding round, its largest yet, will fuel the launch of a next-generation SaaS platform, new AI features, and further expansion across the U.S., Latin America, and Asia. Including this latest round, 1NCE has raised $160 million since 2017.

The new funding, backed by investors including Deutsche Telekom, iSquared Capital, Kensington Capital Partners, and SoftBank, also allows 1NCE to double down on U.S. expansion. Miami — 1NCE’s North American HQ since 2022 — plays a key role in that plan. While 1NCE’s early growth was largely driven from Europe, Rook and his team have increasingly used Brickell as their launchpad for the Americas — helping orchestrate global operations and hiring locally to tap into South Florida’s rising tech economy.

“We’re expanding our American workforce to accelerate our momentum,” 1NCE Co-CEO Ivo Rook shared in a statement. He pointed to the company’s track record of “industry-defining endpoint availability of 99.97%” as a foundation for what’s next.

Since its founding in 2017, 1NCE has quietly taken an unusual path. Instead of selling connectivity as a commodity, it built it into its software stack from day one – offering manufacturers, cities, and businesses a simpler way to manage connected products for their entire lifecycle. One SIM card, one platform, global reach.

Today, 1NCE serves more than 24,000 customers and manages over 30 million devices in more than 170 countries. The company also now runs the largest privately operated IoT network in the cloud.

Even as it’s expanded worldwide, 1NCE’s leaders say they’re just getting started. A big part of the next chapter is weaving AI directly into the heart of IoT operations, Rook told Refresh Miami earlier this year.

The company is preparing to roll out new AI-driven tools for customers already using 1NCE OS, helping industries monitor device health, optimize battery life, and create predictive models that weren’t possible even a few years ago.

As more sectors rely on sensors, automation, and real-time data, the market for simple, reliable IoT infrastructure is only growing.

1NCE is also beefing up its leadership bench. Telecom veteran Christoph Vilanek recently joined as Chairman of the Advisory Board, bringing experience from leading Freenet, one of Europe’s largest mobile companies.

The company says it’s preparing for an IPO within the next two years. If they pull it off, 1NCE will be proof that you don’t have to be loud to build something unstoppable.
